Saturday evening saw an exciting Ligue 1 match unfold, where Andre Ayew, the Ghanaian forward, played a crucial role for Le Havre, resulting in a hard-earned 3-3 draw against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
In this thrilling encounter at the Parc des Princes, the 34-year-old Ghanaian team captain showcased his talent by scoring a remarkable goal.
Before the match, PSG had the upper hand in their head-to-head clashes, winning three times, while Le Havre hadn’t managed a victory or even a draw. Ayew kicked off the game and played until the 71st minute, alongside Emmanuel Sabbi, the American-born Ghanaian winger, who also started for Le Havre.
The action began with Le Havre taking the lead in the 19th minute through Christopher Operi’s well-executed team goal. However, PSG leveled the score in the 28th minute courtesy of Bradley Barcola. Ayew then regained the lead for Le Havre in the 38th minute with a powerful left-footed shot, assisted by Loic Nego’s clever backheel pass.
Le Havre furthered their lead to 3-1 in the 61st minute when Abdoulaye Toure successfully converted a penalty, deceiving Keylor Navas. Nevertheless, PSG mounted a comeback with Achraf Hakimi narrowing the gap in the 78th minute, and Goncalo Ramos scoring an extraordinary header in the 95th minute to salvage a dramatic 3-3 draw.
Throughout the season, Andre Ayew has consistently delivered for Le Havre, netting three goals in 15 league appearances.
