Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Eli Keke was adjudged the best player of the game as his side Vikingur Olafsvik went away to draw 2-2 with Grotta in the Icelandic Deild League.
Eli netted the equalizer for his side in the 51st minute with a superb strike after Axel Haroarson had given the home side the lead four minutes earlier.
The former Dreams FC player defended well and surged forward to join the attack when it matters most as his side nearly caused an upset at the Vivaldivollurinn Stadium before Grotta netted a 93rd minute to end the game 2-2.
Eli who was named in the Icelandic Deild League team of the first round mentioned that it was a good game and he hopes to continue shing in the second round.
“It was a great game, we had wanted to win but they equalized to make it 2-2 in the 93rd minute. I am pleased with my man of the match award and I will continue to do more for the team,” Eli told Dailymailgh.com
The 23-year-old has been Vikingur’s best player since joining them two seasons ago.
