He took the opportunity to underscore the magnitude of the sacrifices made by the team to reach this juncture, emphasizing the arduous challenges faced during the qualifying games. The president acknowledged the considerable sacrifice made by players and the technical staff, recognizing their unwavering commitment.

In acknowledging the dedicated efforts, President Simeon-Okraku remarked, “In front of you are your warriors. With Ghana’s AFCON glory eluding them for over four decades, President Simeon-Okraku faced the reality but remained undeterred. “Indeed, this glory has been evasive for over 40 years, but we are very much committed towards the cause,” he declared with unwavering determination. In a closing gesture of gratitude, the GFA president extended thanks on behalf of the entire team. He acknowledged the support from the captain, leadership, head coach, and everyone involved, stating, “We thank you for coming through, and we will be looking forward to seeing you at all the games, beginning Sunday, till we lift the trophy on the last day of the tournament.” With these words, President Simeon-Okraku set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable AFCON campaign for Ghana, built on unity, commitment, and the pursuit of long-awaited glory.
