The Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee has levied a fine of GHc80,000 on Asante Kotoko SC for violating Article 16(c) and Article 16(2)(f) of the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019 during their Premier League Matchday 6 encounter against Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

Facing charges from GFA Prosecutors, Asante Kotoko SC pleaded Not Guilty, yet subsequent examination of video footage and match officials’ reports led the Disciplinary Committee to find the club guilty.

In their ruling, the Committee communicated that the imposed fine must be directed to Nations FC to cover the costs of repairing the stadium, including the damaged seats.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee has been active in adjudicating and penalizing various clubs, team officials, and players for misconduct across multiple matches, addressing incidents involving teams such as Bechem United FC, Berekum Chelsea FC, Bibiani Goldstars FC, and others. As part of their ongoing efforts, sanctions were issued for offenses committed in matches against opponents like Hearts of Oak SC, Medeama SC, Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano FC, Legon Cities FC, and more.
