Ghana legend Michael Essien is said to be of no interest in taking over as Black Stars coach one day despite having all the required documents to back his appointment as the head coach in future.

According to Nigeria journalist, Lolade Adewuyi, the former Ghana International told him blankly that he has no interest in coaching the Black Stars team.

Essien has been with Denmark Superliga side FC Nordsjaelland coaching staff for the past years and has gone through the UEFA coach hung badges making him a qualified candidate for the Black Stars job.

Nonetheless, the former Chelsea FC, Really Madrid CF and AC Milan midfielder is not looking at the Ghana job even with a closed eye.

“On my way to Naples, had a long layover in Denmark where I met a legend of the game, Michael Essien.”

“He’s now a coach at FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga. He recently got his UEFA A and UEFA Elite Youth Coach licenses. Future Black Stars coach? He said not interested”, Lolade Adewuyi Tweeted.

Michael Essien was an integral member of the Black Stars team when they first qualified for the FIFA World Cup tournament in Germany in 2006.

He also featured at the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Brazil when Ghana came last in the group stages of the competition.

He won UEFA Champions League, FA Cups and Premier League titles during his time at Chelsea FC.
