Ghanaian midfielder Obeng Regan was on target on Saturday as his side NK Istra lost 3-2 at home to Slaven Belupo in the Croatian top flight.
Regan, who operated in his favourite central midfield gave his side a 2-1 lead with a sweet finish in the 35th minute after being beautifully set up by Mario Cuze, but the visitors stepped up their game and responded with goals from Ivan Krstanovic in the 42nd minute as well as David Puclin in the 60th minute.
Regan was the stand out player at the Aldo Drosina Stadium as he seized the midfield and sprayed incisive passes to every corner of the pitch.
Last season, Regan was Istra’s best player as he helped them to survive the elite division.
