Ghana newbie Tariq Lamptey on cloud nine after maiden Black Stars call-up

Black Stars newbie Tariq Lamptey is on cloud nine after he was handed his maiden call-up to play for Ghana.

The Brighton and Hove Albion youngster, Tariq Lamptey recently announced his decision to switch nationality to represent his native country, Ghana at the senior level of international football.

Despite not getting enough playing time at his club this season, the 20-year-old versatile player has been included in the Ghana squad for upcoming friendlies against power house Brazil and minnows Nicaragua.

The young man is so proud to be playing for Ghana and has expressed his excitement to don the famous Black Stars jersey.

“I’m happy that everything is completed with FIFA and I’m able to play for Ghana. I thank God for giving me this opportunity, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen.” 

“I’d like to take a moment to thank England and everyone involved in my journey so far, had some unbelievable memories,I’m grateful for everyone who’s helped me along the way coaches, staff,players and fans . It was an honour to wear the shirt and represent the country thank you.”
