Fragile Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC were beaten at home in the Ghana Premier League week nine clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon.
CAF Confederation Cup side Dreams FC inflicted a painful defeat on the poor Porcupine Warriors to leave them winless in their last three matches of the young 2023-24 campaign in Ghana.
The Still Believe lads travelled to Kumasi to beat the Porcupine Warriors to return to winning ways. Before this game, Dreams FC had suffered back to back defeats in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Dreams FC broke the deadlock before the halftime break through Abdul Aziz Issah. And with no additional goal in the second half, the CAF Confederations Cup campaigners cruised to victory to merit the three maximum points at stake.
Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum in search of the equalizer threw in his arsenals in second half, but Dreams FC showed determination and resilience to pick their first win in their last three games. Meanwhile, the record Ghana Premier League holders are yet to win a game since October 13.
Kotoko have dropped to the 14th position with 10 points whiles Dreams FC moves to the 10 spot with 11 points after 9 games into the season.
The Porcupine Warriors are away to Samartex in the week 10 of the domestic top-flight.
