Accra Hearts of Oak SC picked their first point on the road in the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League season at the Duns Park in Bibiani on Saturday afternoon against Gold Stars.

The Rainbow Boys came from a goal down to draw 1-1 against the Bibiani lads to avoid defeat away from home for the first time in three attempts.

It was a game of two halves as the Green and Yellow Miners dominated the opening 45 minutes of the match to stretch the Phobians with their quick passes.

The opening 45 minutes of the match ended in a goalless draw despite both teams creating some good openings in the game.

Hearts of Oak came in stronger in the second half of the match and created a lot of good scoring chances but failed to capitalized on the chances they had.

Former Asokwa Deportivo SC and Obuasi Ashantigold SC playmaker Appiah McCarthy scored another free-kick goal this season when he found the back of the net inside the 90th minute mark to put the hosts 1-0 up with his third free-kick goal.

One minute later Issah Hamza got the equalizer for the away team to make it 1-1 at the end of the match as spoils were shared between the two teams.

Hearts will face Medeama SC at the Accra Sports Stadium next weekend whiles Gold Stars travel to face Karela United FC.
