Struggling Karela United FC on Thursday afternoon beat giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in their encounter despite the Porcupines hitting five in their previous game.
Kotoko stumbled again on the road against the relegation threatened team as they slipped to 5th on the league table following the loss away from home.
The Pride and Passion team beat the Porcupine Warriors by a lone goal in their week 15 clash in the ongoing 2022-23 Ghana top-flight.
The oopening 45 minutes of the match saw no goal despite both teams playing so well in the opening 45 minutes of the match.
Fifteen minutes into the second 45 minutes of the match, Samuel Kumi scored from the spot to hand the home team the lead.
Kotoko players complained bitterly about the incident as the foul happened outside of the box but the referee gave the home team a penalty to win the game 1-0.
Kotoko will host Accra Lions FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League week 16 clash.
Karela United FC on the other hand will visit the Dun’s park in Bibiani to take on Gold Stars FC.
