Ghana Premier League powerhouse Accra Hearts of Oak SC got their first win at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa over Medeama SC on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 score line.
The Phobians were winless against the Yellow and Mauves team since 2016 when they beat Medeama at the Tarkwa TNA Park under Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
The away team looked to be in a good mood for the game right from the blast of the referee’s whistle.
Kwadwo Obeng Jnr found the back of the net with a nice goal after 34 minutes of the match to put Accra Hearts of Oak SC in the lead.
Medeama scored in the second half of the match but the goal was disallowed by the officials of the match as the score remained 1-0 to Hearts.
Hearts held on despite the successive pressure from the home team to record an impressive victory on the road to move top of the league table temporarily.
