Vision FC and Hearts of Oak played out an exciting 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newtown, as Round 27 of the Ghana Premier League served up another intense contest.
Hearts of Oak took the lead in the 38th minute when defender Kelvin Osei Asibey rose highest to connect with a set-piece, sending a powerful header past the Vision FC goalkeeper. The Phobians went into halftime with a narrow advantage after a relatively balanced opening half.
But Vision FC came out stronger in the second half and wasted little time in responding. Just three minutes after the break, Meschack Sowah Adjetey found the equaliser with a calm finish, capitalising on sustained pressure from the home side.
That goal sparked more energy into Vision’s play, and they began to look the more threatening side. Substitute Emmanuel Akansase nearly completed the comeback in the 60th minute with a clever run and low strike, but his effort brushed past the post—just inches away from glory.
Although both sides had chances, Vision appeared sharper after the break and pushed harder for a winner. Hearts, meanwhile, were left disappointed once again as their struggles on the road continued.
In the end, Vision will feel they could have taken all three points, while Hearts of Oak will be left to reflect on another missed opportunity away from home.
