Amidst the glitz and glamour of the Super Bowl halftime show, a different kind of spotlight shone on the global stage. As millions tuned in, an advertisement showcasing the beauty and vibrancy of Ghana captured the hearts and minds of viewers worldwide.
The brainchild of President Nana Akufo-Addo, Ghana’s newfound openness to the diaspora was on full display.
Kow Essuman, the counsel to the President, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to extol the vision of President Akufo-Addo, highlighting how his policies have transformed Ghana’s image in the international community.
The ad, courtesy of the NFL and crafted by the talented team led by J. Owusu, served as a powerful testament to Ghana’s allure as a destination for both cultural enrichment and economic opportunities. It was a showcase of Ghana’s rich heritage, warm hospitality, and promising future.
“There is no doubt that this will remain as one of the legacies of @NAkufoAddo and his government,” Essuman tweeted on Monday (February 12).
From the star-studded Global Citizen concert, where global icons like Usher and SZA graced the stage, to the festive vibes of Detty December, which welcomed the likes of Meek Mill, Ludacris, and Davido, Ghana had become a magnet for talent and creativity from the diaspora.
Shown before an audience of over 115 million all over the world, #Ghana couldn’t get any better advertisement than this. All thanks to @NAkufoAddo for opening up our country to all these global opportunities. From the @GlblCtzn concert that brought @Usher and @sza to… https://t.co/DjbCdydWzk

Under the leadership of Akwasi Agyeman, the Ghana Tourism Authority spearheaded the #VisitGhana campaign, inviting the world to experience the wonders of the country firsthand. The campaign not only bolstered tourism but also fostered cultural exchange and economic growth.
As the ad aired before an audience of over 115 million viewers, it was clear that Ghana’s star was shining brighter than ever on the global stage. Thanks to President Akufo-Addo’s visionary leadership, Ghana had seized the moment and cemented its place as a beacon of opportunity and hospitality in Africa, Essuman added.
