Ghana’s sports minister Isaac Asiamah has disclosed $4.5 million was spent on the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation tournament in Egypt.

Speaking before Parliament on Wednesday, he said the Ministry budgeted $6.3 million but had to spend $4.5m.

According to him, the Normalization Committee of the Ghana FA is preparing a comprehensive report on the poor performance of the Black Stars in Egypt, promising there will be some reforms after receiving the report.

The four-time African champions exited the continental showpiece at the Round of 16 following a penalty setback against Tunisia.

Algeria beat Senegal in the final to win the cup.

  1. Spent $4.5 even after the exit in the round of 16, I wonder how much we would have spent had we gotten to the finals.
