Even though West Ham United didn’t make it further in the Europa League, Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus gained praise for his outstanding performance in the tournament.
At 23 years old, Kudus made it to the Europa League Team of the Week thanks to his excellent showing in West Ham’s 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter-final second-leg match.
Despite West Ham being knocked out after failing to recover from a 2-0 loss in the first leg, Kudus shone brightly with his contributions on the field.
The attacking midfielder created three scoring opportunities during the game, the highest among all players, and successfully completed four dribbles, demonstrating his talent and creativity.
Although Michail Antonio put West Ham in the lead early on in the 13th minute, they couldn’t hold on, conceding a late goal from Jeremie Frimpong in the 89th minute.
With their Europa League journey over, West Ham will now shift their focus to the Premier League, gearing up to face Crystal Palace.
