Manager of Scottish outfit Rangers, Steve Gerrard, has given Ghanaian striker Joe Dodoo the chance to stake a permanent place in the Light Blues squad.

Dodoo, 24, has been shipped on loan to Charlton and Blackpool in the past two seasons where he failed to impress but the former Liverpool skipper has given the attacker an opportunity to impress in his team with the striking role still up for grabs.

Initially, doubts were hanging over Dodoo as the club decided to sell him permanently this summer. He was not involved in their pre-season since they started two weeks ago but he trained over the weekend at the Hummels Training Centre though he did not feature in their 1-1 friendly game draw with Blackburn on Sunday.

The former Leicester City forward’s contract with Rangers expires on June 30, 2020 and will be eyeing an extension if he is able to convince Gerrard and stay at the club.
