The prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley is the special guest of honour at Ghana’s 63rd independence anniversary celebrations, Daily Mail GH can confirm.
The anniversary falls on March 6, 2020 – the day Ghana gained independence from British colonial rule in 1957.
The National Security Minister of Trinidad Stuart Young has confirmed his boss’ attendance.
He said Dr Rowley had received the invitation from Ghana’s president Nana Akufo-Addo to attend the 63rd independence anniversary celebrations on March 6 at Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti region.
He explained the event was building on the success of Ghana’s “Year of Return” campaign to promote the country.
“This is the strengthening of ties,” Young added.
Rowley made an official visit to Ghana very early in his term. It will be recalled that in June 2019, Akufo-Addo also paid a state visit to Trinidad.
