Ghanaian arrested in Jamaica en route to Canada with fake documents

A Ghanaian has been arrested in Jamaica trying to board a flight to Toronto, Canada with fake documents.

Jamaican immigration officials picked up Seth Asare at the Norman Manley International Airport and confessed using false papers to realise his dream of living in North America.

He pleaded guilty to charges of altering forged documents and forgery on Monday at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, Daily Mail GH learnt.

Asare faces a month in jail if he fails to pay a fine of GhC4,000 (JMD100,000).

Daily Mail GH also understands the judge Vaughn Smith, who had mercy on the Ghanaian national, ordered his deportation after paying the fine or serving his jail term.
