Ghanaian international Edmund Baidoo scored his first Austrian Bundesliga goal for Red Bull Salzburg in a well-earned 2-1 victory over Cashpoint SCR Altach on Saturday in their tenth league match of the season.

Salzburg dominated the first half but struggled to finish their chances, allowing Altach to take advantage of their first shot on target. In the 60th minute, Gebauer’s effort was saved by Schlager, but Lukas Fridrikas was quick to tap in the rebound at the far post, giving Altach a surprise 1-0 lead.

The goal momentarily unsettled Salzburg, but they regained control with 20 minutes remaining. In the 84th minute, Dedic delivered a perfect cross into the box, and Karim Konate powered a header past Stojanovic to equalize.

Just two minutes later, Konate was involved again, latching onto a long ball and setting up Edmund Baidoo, who calmly finished to score his first Bundesliga goal and secure a 2-1 win for Salzburg.

Baidoo, born in 2006, signed with Red Bull Salzburg during the summer transfer window for €3.3 million, with an additional €1.2 million in potential add-ons.

Salzburg will now shift focus to their UEFA Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, October 23, at 21:00.
