Ghanaian forward Brian Brobbey showcased his talent with a goal and an assist as Ajax battled to a 2-2 draw against NEC Nijmegen in the Dutch Eredivisie.

In a thrilling encounter at the Johan Cruijff Arena, the Dutch-born Ghanaian made a significant impact before being substituted in the 90th minute, contributing to his team’s performance.

Brobbey wasted no time in making his mark, finding the back of the net just seven minutes into the game after receiving a precise pass from Jaydon Banel, giving Ajax the early advantage heading into halftime.

Despite NEC Nijmegen’s efforts, Ajax maintained their lead until the 61st minute when an own goal from Jorrel Hato leveled the score, temporarily dampening Ajax’s spirits.

However, Brobbey once again proved instrumental in Ajax’s quest for victory, setting up Carlos Borges for Ajax’s second goal in the 79th minute, putting his team back in the lead.

With victory seemingly within reach for Ajax, a late, injury-time goal from Roberto González dashed their hopes of securing all three points on home turf.

Throughout the season, the 22-year-old striker has emerged as a key figure for Ajax, showcasing his prowess in front of goal with an impressive tally of 17 goals and 5 assists in 30 games.

Brobbey’s consistent performances have solidified his position as Ajax’s main attacking threat, with his contributions playing a crucial role in the team’s pursuit of success in both domestic and potentially European competitions.
