Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams returns to club football with a goal and assist in Athletic Bilbao’s heavy win

Ghanaian forward Inaki Williams returned to club football with a bang against UD Almeria in the Spanish La Liga on Friday evening at home.

He scored the opening goal of the match to help his side secure a vital and comfortable win to grab their fifth win of the season in seven matches.

He also assisted his younger brother Nico Williams to score Athletic Bilbao’s third goal in their 4-0 emphatic win over over the new Boys.

The 28-year-old Ghanaian forward played the entire duration of the match as his goals helped his team to secure a comfortable home win.

He scored the opening goal of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up 10 minutes into the game when he was assisted by his younger brother Nico Williams.

Oihan Sancet scored the second goal seven minutes after the first to make the first half score 2-0 for the Red and Blacks at the end of the opening half.

He thought he had scored again five minutes into the second half but his goal was overturned by VAR for offside decision. Two minutes after the hour mark the striker’s younger brother Nico Williams grabbed his goal in the game and his team’s third on the 62nd minute mark.

Mikel Vesga scored late from the spot to make the final score 4-0 in Athletic Bilbao’s favour as the victory takes them to 16 points and 3rd on the league table after seven matches. The 28-year-old Ghanaian forward has three goals and one assist in seven Spanish La Liga this campaign for Bilbao.
