Ghanaian-born Dutch Jonathan Opoku was adjudged Man-of-the-Match in VVV Venlo’s comeback win at Waalwijk.
The Ghanaian forward registered his fifth Eredivisie goal for the Yellow and Blacks this term in their 2-1 away win.
The host shot themselves in front just 15 minutes into the match through Emil Hasson’s strike. The first 45 minutes saw the home team showing glimpses of brilliance and could have doubled their advantage before the break.
After the recess, the visitors upped their game and came into the second half with more intensity and aggression to find the equalizer.
The 29-year-old Ghanaian talisman found the back of the net to level matters for his team 14 minutes from full time to make it 1-1.
The visitors completed the impressive comeback eight minutes to the end of the match when striker Oussama Darfalou from Algeria struck from the center of the goal area with his left foot into the bottom left corner to win the day for the Yellow and Blacks.
Opoku was given the MoTM award for his stellar performance in the game.
