Former Borussia Dortmund player Richmond Tachie has joined Germany Bundesliga 2 side FC Kaiserslautern from SC Paderborn ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
The Ghanaian forward of Germany descent has moved from one club to another in the same Division after completing his mandatory medical test to sign the deal with the former powerhouse in Germany Football.
Tachie is still eligible to play for Ghana’s Black Stars despite playing for the under 15-17 for the Germany youth teams due to the fact that he’s never played at senior level for the club.
He played for Tennis Borussia Berlin before moving to the youth academy of Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg after excelling at the club.
Tachie also played for Viktoria Köln where he excelled in the Germany Bundesliga 3 with the club and left the team after a successful spell.
He was later signed by Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and played for the reserve side as he won the regional league championship and promotion to the 3rd division and established himself as a top player.
In the Regionalliga West and in the 3rd division making up just two seasons, the striker appeared in a total of 73 league games for BVB scoring 17 goals and providing 18 assists.
This was followed by the move to SC Paderborn. He made 17 appearances for East Westphalia in the second division and twice in the DFB Cup.
The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
