Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey scored for Brighton & Hove Albion in their Carabao Cup match against Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
Lamptey’s goal, which came in the 90th minute, brought the game to a close 3-2, giving Brighton a fighting chance in the final moments.
The game was lively and filled with action. Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo opened the scoring early in the second half with two goals in the 46th and 63rd minutes, giving Liverpool a strong 2-0 lead.
Brighton kept pushing, and Ivorian player Simon Adingra managed to reduce the deficit, making it 2-1 just nine minutes before the end.
Liverpool’s Luis Diaz then scored in the 85th minute to make it 3-1, securing what seemed like a comfortable lead.
However, Lamptey’s late goal at the 90-minute mark brought Brighton back within one goal, setting up a tense finish.
Despite their efforts, Brighton couldn’t find an equalizer, and Liverpool held on to win 3-2, advancing to the next round of the Carabao Cup.
