Ghana’s Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko has upgraded his squad with the inclusion of European based players for the final qualifying game of the TotalEnergies CAF U-23 Championship against Algeria.

The Black Meteors are scheduled to battle with Algeria this month in a double header for a ticket at the U-23 Cup of Nations to be played in Morocco in June this year.

The former Borussia Dortmund boss has now augmented the team with the inclusion of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Sporting Lisbon who missed out on the Black Stars team.

He’s expected to be part of the team this week ahead of the two-legged game which Ghana hopes to qualify for the main event with Fatawu Issahaku’s inclusion.

Ghana will first play Algeria in Annaba on Friday, March 24, before hosting them in the second league on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi.

The winner of the two-legged affair will qualify for the U-23 Championship in Morocco which will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris.
