Ghanaian youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi nets debut goal in League One as Charlton whip Plymouth

Young Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi netted a goal on his Charlton Athletic FC debut in the English League One on Tuesday evening at home.

Jesurun, on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace FC scored the first goal of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up just 11 minutes into the game with a calm finish.

His left-footed strike found it way into the bottom left corner to to settle the nerves of the home team who started pilling pressure on the Green and Whites side.

Jayden Stockley and Sean Clare scored two goals in quick succession to give Charlton a three goals lead at the break with a 41st and 45th minutes strike respectively.

The Ghanaian teen played 63 mintues before his place was taken by Miles Leaburn with just a little over 25 minutes left to play.

The 10-man Plymouth team fought hard in the second half of the match and pulled one back inside the last 20 minutes of the match through Morgan Whittaker.

The visitors scored after the 70th minute mark to reduce the deficit to two with less than 20 minutes to the end of the match.

The home team then scored two late goals through Charlie Kirk and Leaburn to make the final score 5-1.

Ghana’s first choice goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott was in goal for Charlton as they thrashed their opponents.

The 19-year-old English-born Ghanaian player has a goal to his name in the English League One in just one appearance.
