Jordan Ayew’s 98th-minute goal clinched the dramatic win for Leicester, who were two goals down at halftime. This crucial victory follows the Black Stars’ recent disappointing run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Southampton took early control of the game, with Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo giving the home side a 2-0 lead before the break.
Leicester began their comeback in the 64th minute when Facundo Buonanotte found the back of the net, thanks to a precise assist from Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. In the 74th minute, Jamie Vardy converted a penalty to level the score.
It was Ayew who sealed the game with a 98th-minute strike, completing Leicester’s thrilling comeback.
