Ghana’s Acosty powers Rijeka to second in Croatian top-flight

Ghanaian forward Maxwell Boadu Acosty was on target for HNK Rijeka against NK Varazdin.

The 28-year-old Ghanaian attacker netted his third league goal of the season for Rejika in their 3-1 win in the Croatian top-flight on Saturday.

Acosty broke the deadlock 11 minutes into the start of the game to put the home team ahead.

Rijeka were the better side through out the opening 45 minutes and could have ended the first half with just one goal advantage.

Antonio-Mirko Colak made it two for the home side in the 47th minute, two minutes into the second half.

NK Varazdin are bottom of the league and showed no positives against a determined HNK Rijeka side till the 83rd minute of action when Dejan Glavica converted a penalty to make it 2-1.

Colak scored his second and third goal of the match to ensure Rijeka keep all three points at home.

Rijeka cruised to a comprehensive 3-1 win at home to go second on the league log trailing leaders Dynamo Zagreb by seven points.
