Ghana’s active COVID-19 cases rise to 1,404; death toll 341

Ghana’s second wave of coronavirus (COVID-19) is witnessing a steady rise of cases as the country’s current active cases stand at 1,404 after 175 new ones were recorded.

According to latest figures from the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the West African country’s total confirmed cases as of 10 January 2021 are 56,981 of which 55,236 have recovered and been discharged.

The death toll has also increased marginally to 341.

Regional breakdown of cases:

Greater Accra Region – 31,953

Ashanti Region – 11,285

Western Region – 3,164

Eastern Region – 2,658

Central Region – 2,184

Bono East Region – 789

Volta Region – 771

Western North Region – 668

Bono Region – 642

Northern Region – 580

Ahafo Region – 530

Upper East Region – 399

Oti Region – 244

Upper West Region – 112

Savannah Region – 62

North East Region – 22
