Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah has set a target to bag more assists for Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Acquah created his first and second assist of the season last Sunday when Yeni Malatyaspor beat Kayserispor 4-0. The midfielder was involved in three of the goals.
“Creating goal scoring opportunities is an aspect of the game that I love and I always train to improve on that I’m delighted to have provided two last Sunday, but I want to be consistent,” Acquah noted.
The 27-year-old believes he has the qualities such as the strength and aerial prowess to become a better assist for goal scorers.
“It is not as if I don’t do that enough but it’s because you only get credit when your teammate is able to put the ball at the back of the net. I always get involved in the attacking phase of the game.”
Acquah is hoping to contribute more assists for Yeni Malatyaspor as the season wears on.
“The season is very young and there are more matches to be played, so I’m hoping to contribute to more goals”, he said in a series of tweets with his fans.
