The Ghana Association of Certified Registered Anaesthetists has called off its nationwide strike effect Thursday, February 6, 2020.

The suspension, according to the Association follows a “fruitful deliberation and goodwill shown by stakeholders and the leadership of the union in a meeting held on the 5th of February, 2020.”

The association’s action was triggered by a protest over the Medical and Dental Council’s attempt to change their name from Certified Registered Anaesthetists to Physician assistants.

The five-day old strike adversely affected medical services including surgery.

But in a statement the Association entreated all members to “commence delivery of anaesthetist services to all forms of surgeries” following the suspension.
