Ghana’s Asante set new record in USL Championship

Ghanaian winger Solomon Asante of Phoenix Rising FC smashed two records on Saturday in the US second tier league.

The diminutive winger has set a club record for most goals – 20 – in a season.

Also, the 29-year-old broke the league record for most combined goals and assists in a season with 20 goals and 13 assists, making 33 goals involvement to his credit.

Asante signed with Phoenix Rising FC of the United Soccer League on Decembe 21, 2017.

Born in Ghana to Ghanaian parents, Asante started his career at Ghanaian club Feyenoord Ghana, where he played until 2009.
