Ghana’s David Atanga has joined German Bundesliga II side Holstein Kiel.
Holstein Kiel announced the signing of the former Ghanaian Under-20 star on a three-year contract.
Atanga joined the German tier two side after a difficult spell in the Austrian league with the country’s most decorated football club Red Bull Salsburg.
“David Atanga is a great lad with huge potential and success ahead of him and we are glad we have been able to sign an extremely fast and flexible winger in him for our club, who can be used on both wings as well,” Managing Director of Sport, Mr Fabian Wohlgemuth said after his signing.
“He is a very trickish customer on his day and has a dribbelstark, and he brings a high understanding of the game to our play which we so badly needed in the team at the moment.
“We believe Atanga will make our game even more flexible and faster with his versatility and abilities to get past players with ease and in tight situations as we saw during his time with the Ghana u-20 team,” Fabian added.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian sensation played last season on loan at German Bundesliga 2 side Greuther Fürth where he made a meaningful impact and left his mark.
