Ghana’s COVID-19 death toll now 248 as confirmed cases hit 42,993

Coronavirus has killed nine more persons in Ghana, taking the death toll to 248, reports the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

In its Tuesday, August 18, 2020 update, the GHS said 340 new cases have taken the national case tally to 42, 993.

The active cases now stand at 1,949, leaving the recovered toll at 40, 796. Three patients are currently on ventilators while six remain critical with 16 others in a severe situation.

Eastern Region – 2,109

Central Region – 1,829

Bono East Region – 730

Volta Region – 646

Western North Region – 598

Ahafo Region – 490

Northern Region – 489

Bono Region – 480

Upper East Region – 282

Oti Region – 229

Upper West Region – 88

Savannah Region – 62

North East Region – 18
