Ghana’s ‘favourite’ striker Jordan Ayew bags brace in Crystal Palace win at Leeds United

Ghanaians favourite striker Jordan Ayew scored twice for Crystal Palace FC in the English Premier League on Sunday afternoon at Elland Road.

The attacker got his first brace for the Red and Blue Eagles in their emphatic 5-1 win away from home in the Premier League round 30 clash.

He lasted 81 minutes on the field of play before he was substituted and replaced by French international striker Jean-Philippe Mateta with nine minutes to go.

Patrick Bamford put the hosts 1-0 up after 21 minutes with a stickers goal but Marc Guehi scored the equalizer for the away team just before the break.

Eight minutes into the second half of the match, Michael Olise set up the Ghanaian to score the second goal for the away team with a brilliant header,making it 2-1 to Crystal Palace.

Eberechi Eze scored two minutes later to make it 3-1 to the away side with Olise providing another assist.

Odsonne Edouard was also set up Michael Olise to score the fourth goal brilliantly to give the Palace a 4-1 lead after 70 minutes.

Seven minutes later, Mark Hughes strike was blocked in the box as the ball feel just perfectly for the Ghanaian attacker who hammered home the fifth goal and his second goal in the game to make sure it ended in an emphatic 5-1 win for the Eagles.

The 31-year-old Ghana International has three goals and two assists in 30 appearances this season in the English Premier League for Crystal Palace FC.
