Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew has surpassed his dad Abedi Pele Ayew on Ghana’s all time top scorers chat after his goal against the Lone Stars of Liberia in a friendly match on Tuesday evening at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He found the back of the net for the Stars when he came on as a second half substitute to score his 20th goal for Ghana since his debut in 2010.
His goal against the Lone Stars of Liberia takes him beyond his father, Abedi Pele, in the all-time goal-scoring chart for the Black Stars.
Jordan Ayew is currently just four goals away from matching his brother, Andre Ayew, who has 24 goals in 114 caps.
Asamoah Gyan is still the record holder for most goals scored for Ghana, amassing an impressive 51 goals in 109 appearances before retiring from professional football.
He has also become Ghana’s fourth-most capped player following his substitute appearance in the 3-1 victory over Liberia, emphasizing his lasting impact on the national team.
