Ghanaian striker Daniel Gozar scored in his first league game for South African National Division One side Free State Stars on Saturday.
Gozar was the star at the Athlone Stadium putting up a fantastic performance as his club lost by three goals to two in the league opener.
The former Ashantigold striker reduced the deficit in the 21st minute through a spot kick after Grant Magerman had given the home side a 2-0 lead.
“It was a good game, it is unfortunate we lost, they took an early lead and we had to fight back,” Gozar told Dailymailgh.com
“Personally, scoring in my debut is good. It will build me up for the subsequent games. We hope to win our next game which will be at home.”
Despite joining Free State Stars late, Gozar netted three goals and provided three assists in the friendly games he played and is now transforming his fine form into the league.
