Ghanaian-born German defender Steffen Nkansah scored the only goal as Eintracht Braunschweig pipped Hallescher FC on Wednesday evening.
The 24-year-old latched onto Martin Kobylanski’s ball in the middle of the penalty area to slot the ball into the top center of the post to hand the away team the lead in the 34th minute.
Hallerscher came into the match stronger after going behind but failed to grab the equalizer before the interval.
Braunschweig lifted their play in the second half of the game and gave the host few chances in the entirety of the second 45 minutes.
Seven minutes from full time, the Ghana international was shown a yellow card for a bad foul.
Braunschweig moved to fourth on the league table after their narrow win at Hallescher FC on Wednesday evening.
