Ghanaian striker Michael Sarpong is pleased after winning the Rayon FC 2018/2109 player of the season award.
The Ghanaian import netted 16 goals in the Rwandan topflight as the Kigali-based club wrestled the title from eternal rivals APR.
Sarpong was voted by the fans, the coaches as well as the club management as their official player of the season.
“I feel so excited right now, I’m the happiest person on earth. I will say a huge thank you to Jehovah for making this dream become reality. I thank everyone that contributed to this journey from the very first day, we pray for more Grace in the coming season,” Sarpong told Dailymailgh.com
“I am looking forward to my debut CAF champions league game, I hope things will go so well for me and my team on Sunday against Al Hilal and we take it from there.
“This is the beginning and I know things will continue to go well. I am hoping for a fruitful career,” he added.
Sarpong, 23, has previously played for Liberty Professionals and Dreams FC. He joined Rayon FC in October 2018.
