Ghana’s Yeboah scores to save WSG Swarovski Tirol from defeat

Ghanaian youngster Kelvin Yeboah was on the score sheet for WSG Swarovski Tirol as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Mattersburg in Austria.

The 20-year-old striker netted his first goal for the Austrian top – flight side in the Europa League playoffs on Tuesday evening after the regular season.

Andreas Gruber gave the visitors the lead inside 14 minutes with a sharp finish with his right foot into the top right corner of the goalpost following a cushion header from Alois Holler to make it 1 – 0 before the quarter of an hour into the game.

Yeboah, after receiving a perfect pass from team-mate David Gugannig out of the 18-yard-box picked his spot so well by planting the ball into the bottom-left corner to restore parity for the host before the interval.

Both teams could not find the winner in the second 45 minutes and had to settle for a point each after 1-1 draw.

Yeboah who is a son of Ghana’s legend Tony ‘Yegoala’ Yeboah is yet to make his debut for the Black Stars.
