The Ministry of Education has announced that all candidates checking their Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) placements for the 2024/2025 academic year can now access the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform free of charge.
This new policy, introduced before the release of placement results, removes the previous requirement to purchase pin codes—a step that often added extra cost and complexity for students and their families.
The Ministry’s decision is expected to benefit hundreds of thousands of incoming first-year students and their families by simplifying and widening access to the placement system.
How to Check Placement Results
The Ministry has provided a simple, free method for students to check their placement results:
1. Visit the CSSPS website at https://www.cssps.gov.gh or https://www.cssps.org.
2. Enter your ten-digit index number followed by the year of completion (e.g., for 2024, enter as “123456789024”).
3. Click “Submit” to view the placement result.
The Ministry encourages all eligible students to utilize this free service to access their placement information promptly and without financial barriers.
A Step Toward Educational Equity
In the press release, Ministry Spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng emphasized that this decision highlights the government’s dedication to enhancing educational accessibility and equity across Ghana.
“By removing the pin code requirement, we aim to ease some of the financial burden on families, especially those from low-income backgrounds,” said Kwarteng. The Ministry hopes this change will make the placement process more straightforward and accessible for all.
