Orlando Wellington, the assistant coach for Accra Great Olympics, is optimistic about his team’s chances of avoiding relegation in the current 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
His confidence was bolstered following a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Asante Kotoko at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday during the Matchday 32 fixture.
Despite this crucial win, Great Olympics remains in a precarious position, sitting 16th in the league standings with 39 points.
After the match, Wellington expressed his faith in the team’s ability to stay in the league, stating, “Yes, there is a way for us to get out of the relegation zone. This is what we are fighting for, and that’s why I’m very happy that we collected these three maximum points here in Kumasi,” he told StarTimes.
Looking ahead, Great Olympics is set to face Dreams FC in a midweek match on Wednesday, June 5, before hosting their city rivals, Hearts of Oak, in the Matchday 33 games this weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
