Two children have been shot dead in a suspected gun attack at Krabonso-Adiambra in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East region.
The incident occurred on Monday, November 11, 2019 at about 1pm when the duo were on the farm with their relatives.
They have been named as 10-year-old Gabriel Yinye and Kanto Yinye aged 9. The two reportedly left their relatives in search of fruits when they were shot by an unidentified person.
Gabriel died instantly at the crime scene after he sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the head.
His body has been deposited at the Kintampo Government Hospital morgue for preservation.
Kanto Yinye who was in critical condition was also referred to the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman — about an hour driver from the Kintampo Government Hospital where he was initially sent for treatment.
He was, however, pronounced dead Tuesday morning by medics at the facility.
Narrating the incident to Dailymailgh, brother of one of the deceased, James Yinye said they have begun processes to convey the bodies for burial.
“The family has since reported the matter to the police. Now we are awaiting police officials to help release the bodies for burial. We are very devastated over the development and we pray the police will do a thorough investigation into the matter”, Yinye who was at the Kintampo Government Hospital told DailyMailgh.com.
At the time of filing this report Police from the Kintampo Divisional Command had been deployed to the scene as part of Investigations.
No arrest has been made at the time of filing this report. The victims until their death were pupils of the Adiambra D/A Primary School.
