The death of Dr John Kumah, a Deputy Minister of Finance under the Akufo-Addo administration is being mourned by people from all walks of life including Francis Owusu-Akyaw, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Juaben in the Ashanti Region.
Kumah who died at 46 earlier on Thursday (7 March) served as MP for Ejisu for three years and three months, representing the governing party in Parliament.
Owusu-Akyaw deeply affected by the loss, shared his sentiments with a heavy heart. “I am shocked, dismayed, and devastated,” he stated in a Facebook post, reflecting the profound impact of the lawmaker’s passing.

“As these periods connote grief and mourning, it is my fervent prayer that the Almighty God stretches His arm of comfort to the bereaved family and all of us,” he said, seeking solace in the divine during this challenging time.

I am shocked, dismayed, and devastated upon hearing about the sudden demise of my friend and brother, the legislator of our Sister Constituency, Ejisu, Hon. Dr. John A. Kumah Esq.
I wish to express my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to his wife, children family, and the New Patriotic Party from Constituency to the national level, friends, and loved ones in these trying times. The blow is hard, and the pain is difficult to bear.
