Ghana legend Sulley Muntari powered Accra Hearts of Oak to their first win in five games in the ongoing 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season in Accra.

Hearts of Oak SC bounced back to winning ways against West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) SC at home on Wednesday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium with two second half goals.

The home team were the better side and started the game on a blistering pace with a dominant display and pressed their opponents right back into their own half.

The Phobians created some decent chances in the first half of the match but make a good decision in front of goal with their attacking trio misfiring from in and around the goal area.

Ghana legend, Sulley Muntari dazzled once again with his impressive showings in the Ghana Premier League with another great performance for the Phobians.

The first half ended goalless with the home team dominating the match.

After the recess, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr finally broke the deadlock of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up early in the second half.

WAFA leveled through Owari Henry with a beautiful free-kick to restore parity for the Academy Boys who scored their first away goal this season.

On the 74th minute mark, substitute, Patrick Razak was brought down by the away team’s goalkeeper which resulted in a penalty kick.

Sulley Muntari stepped up and converted the spot kick to give the Phobians their first win in five games in the ongoing 2021-22 Ghana Premier League.

Hearts will play Aduana Stars FC next Sunday in Dormaa whilst WAFA host Real Tamale United FC.
