Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender Daniel Quaye is confident that his former club will triumph over their rivals Asante Kotoko in the upcoming super clash at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi this Sunday.
The Kumasi Sports Stadium will be the focal point as the two illustrious giants of Ghanaian football, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, face off in a highly anticipated battle. Despite a lackluster season for both teams, this match on matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League promises to be a thrilling encounter that could become the talk of the town.
Historically, predicting the outcome of this fierce rivalry has always been challenging, especially given the current decline in both teams’ performances. However, during an interview on THE GAME sports show on GHOne TV with hosts Benjamin Yamoah and Monica Bukari, Daniel Quaye expressed his optimism about Hearts of Oak’s chances. He believes the Phobians will secure a victory, asserting that the current form of the teams won’t dictate the match’s result.
“For me, I know Hearts is going to win because Kumasi is like our home. Even though the team isn’t at its best, I am confident they will win and bring joy to the supporters,” Quaye stated.
He also acknowledged the improvement in the team’s performance since Coach Abubakar Quattara took charge. “Since the coach came in, they have been performing better. I just want them to score and win this game, and I am 100 percent sure they will,” Quaye added.
As the match approaches, Hearts of Oak, currently 12th on the league table with 38 points after 30 matches, will be eager to restore their pride and bring happiness to their fans.
