Homowo Cup 2019: Hearts beat Olympics in regional derby to lift trophy

Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday beat city-rivals Accra Great Olympics in the regional derby.

The Phobians won 4-1 on penalties after an entertaining 1-1 draw during regulation time of the 2019 Homowo Cup to gain the bragging right.

Hearts took the lead in 69th minute through a beautiful strike by midfielder Mitchell Sarpong.

Idrissu Sarlar Sunday scored for the Blue and White two minutes after the Phobians had taken the lead with a typical striker’s finish to make it one all with 18 minutes left on the clock.

Both sides failed to capitalized on late chances created and the match ended Hearts 1-1 Olympics.

The former CAF Champions League winners secured the coveted trophy with a 4-1 penalty shootouts win.
