Francis Owusu-Akyaw, the recently elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has affirmed his steadfast commitment to ensuring the party retains the seat in the upcoming general elections.
With a resolute pledge to channel all his efforts and energy into the campaign, Owusu-Akyaw expressed his unwavering determination to serve the constituency diligently while upholding the governing party’s principles.
The minerals consultant clinched victory with 334 votes, surpassing the incumbent MP and Deputy Communications Minister Ama Pomaa Boateng, who secured 120 votes. Owusu-Akyaw’s decisive win positions him as a key contender for the NPP in the upcoming elections as he seeks to secure and fortify the Juaben Constituency seat.
“It is time we had a united front to secure the seat for the NPP ahead of the 7 December elections and make Dr Bawumia the next president of this country. I am appealing to all delegates to remain focused as we pursue this agenda”.
“I intend to call my contender and get her on board as we forge ahead to make Juaben a safe seat for the NPP”, he further stated in his post-election victory speech.
The 27 January election saw at least eight lawmakers suffer defeat in the Ashanti Region. It is the party’s last internal election as it prepares to face the main opposition NDC ahead of the 2024 polls.
