Ghanaian international goalkeeper, Joseph Luke Wollacott says he felt the spirit of Ghana in the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi during Ghana’s game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 26-year-old says at the time the team was warming up for the match, the singing and dancing of the supporters at the stadium felt like the spirit of the country was present.
“I remember after the warm-up when the fans were singing and dancing you could know it was the spirit of Ghana in the stadium”, he told Happy Fm.
According tto Wollacott, it was such a nice feeling at the stadium and he sometimes asks himself if indeed he’s the one playing for Ghana.
“It was a nice feeling at the stadium. Sometimes I feel if it’s me playing for Ghana”, he added.
Wollacott wwas in goal for both matches at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja when Ghana beat Nigeria to the ticket to Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.
