Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu says his biggest bane at Newcastle has been his inconsistent performances and must work hard to improve upon it.
The former FC Porto and Chelsea player admitted that has cost him several times.
“The biggest thing is for me to be consistent. I have had some good performances with Newcastle, but I know that I need to start being more consistent and keeping my standards at the same level right through the season. That’s probably what has held me back at Newcastle so far. I haven’t been consistent enough and I’m working as hard as I can to improve upon that,” Atsu told Shield Gazette.
“I have been working hard to get back from my injury, and I feel though I am getting stronger with every training session and every game.
“It has been nice to be back and in team and I feel the sharpness is starting to return,” he added.
Atsu who provided the assist for Newcastle’s surprised 1-0 away win over Tottenham Hotspur is expected to start this weekend against Liverpool.
